Mainly pop is played on MTV however because they have a official countdown to what is number one each week, they play what the audience wants and what is hot at the moment. Artists that feature on this channel on a regular basis are artists such as Beyonce, Justin Bieber and Jessie J to name a few. MTV is used as a form of branding because they show teen drama’s such as ‘Awkward’ and ‘Pretty Little Liars’ as well as reality shows like ‘Geordie Shore’, ‘Jersey Shore’ and ‘Teen Mom’. This logo appeals to the target audience because it is bold, black and white and easy to see. The letters ‘TV’ are in a different font placed in front of the large bold ‘M’ written in a more fun and less formal font.
